Restored films Cinémathèque Afrique
Since 2018, the French Institute and the CNC have launched a plan to restore and promote African cinematic heritage with the aim of returning heritage films to screens, in particular from the collections of the Cinémathèque Afrique of the French Institute, and the CNC collections. The restored films are made available to the general public in Africa, France and around the world. Thus, to date, 23 films have been restored and programmed in prestigious festivals including Cannes Classic’s, Lumière and Le Fespaco.
