La Chapelle_1.jpg

It is the 1930s. In a village located several kilometers from the administrative post, men deeply attached to ancestral traditions have no greater ambition than to live in peace. The evangelical mission has established a school and is pressuring the population to build a chapel. The work drags on, much to the frustration of the priest, who relies on the sacristan and the village chief to speed up the chapel’s construction. The arrival of a young, modernist-minded teacher and the hostile attitude of the schoolmaster enable the priest to strengthen his authority.
