The dance is marked by a very feminine history. How do men look at dance today? How does a dancer find his place and his own limits of expression? Why such an emergence of choreographers who work exclusively for male dancers, thus questioning the deep identity of men? It is through a choice of images taken from performances or rehearsals, added to interviews, that this film attempts to understand dance in the masculine form. Different themes are addressed, such as the relationship with the father, femininity, violence, metamorphosis, sexuality, which reveal a moving and complex male identity. Ten choreographers and performers -C. Bourigault, D. Chamblas, A. Preljocaj, M. Tompkins, A. Buffard, F. Ruckert, K. Belarbi, J. Nadj, F. Verret, P. Decouflé attempt to put forward their singular responses.
