Nowadays, in Flanders, Demester and some young guys from the country go to fight in a distant conflict. In love with the young Barbe, Demester put up with her strange ways and her lovers. Waiting for the soldiers, alone in Flanders, Barbe wasted away. Faced with this conflict, Demester becomes a warrior.
