The Marcoux family, living in a large and beautiful villa near Aix-en-Provence, is attached to bourgeois values and decorum. Things become less simple when Henri Marcoux takes Leda as his mistress and a friend of hers, Laszlo, becomes the boyfriend of the Marcoux daughter. Laszlo makes provocative comments and encourages Henri to leave his wife, who does not agree. The Marcoux son, who is very attached to his mother, can't stand the situation any longer.
