In a harem in a Muslim environment in Niger, 4 wives have been living in seclusion since their husband became Chief. They carry out transactions and commercial ventures ebb and flow of peddlers, neighbours and goods: money goes through the walls, preserves the bond, builds daily life. Far from gain, each penny earned is a small conquest of freedom, it is also the expression of a force fighting against the void.
