The film tells the tale of Chronopolis, an immense city lost in space. Its inhabitants have for only occupation and for only pleasure to manufacture time. Thus they create all kinds of moments with which they play enigmatic games. In spite of the monotony of immortality, they live in expectation: an important event must occur when a particular moment meets a human being. Thanks to the implementation of mysterious processes, this moment will be born in the form of a white ball. Clinging to a mountain, far away, a mountaineer falls into the void. His fall through the air takes him to the outskirts of Chronopolis... The awaited event is getting ready...
