Postface : la classe de la violence
Marguerite DURAS oeuvres cinématographiquesMarguerite Duras welcomes Dominique Noguez in her country house in Neauphle-le-Château, which she has owned for nearly twenty years. It was there that Nathalie Granger (1972) was filmed. The making of the film preceded the writing of the book. In the company of Gérard Depardieu, who played the travelling salesman, she recalls in particular the close link between the search for traces of the place that inspired her, her home, and the characters in the novel and the film. Duras returns to themes that are dear to her, such as the feminine character of any home and evokes her intentions as a filmmaker: the film's construction, its temporality, the interpretation of the text, the function of the music or the psychology of the characters.
