Jean, known as Brasse Bouillon, is raised with his older brother by their grandmother. When she dies, the parents come to live in the house, with Marcel, the youngest. Immediately, the mother, Madame Rezeau, imposes her vision of life. For the children, it is the beginning of a nightmare. They were no longer allowed to have fun and spent their day between bullying and studying with a priest tutor. Their father does not appreciate the education his wife wants to give them, but he is too cowardly to oppose it. Jean could not stand the situation. He develops a terrible hatred for his mother, whom he secretly calls Folcoche.
