Le Cercle des noyés

The Circle of the Drowned is the name given to black political prisoners in Mauritania, locked up from 1986 in the former colonial fort of Oualata. Ba Fara is one of them. He co-wrote with Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd the story of one of the darkest pages in the contemporary history of Mauritania. No humiliation was spared these prisoners during the long years spent without any contact with the outside world.
