Alain Robbe-Grillet looks back at the conditions of making The Man Who Lies - shot on natural sets in Slovakia in 1968 - important because for the first time, Robbe-Grillet dominates the material and decides to invent the film on the set. The latent reference to Kafka is added to other cultural references that came later, such as the figures of Dom Juan and Boris Goudounov. This documentary also insists on the fundamental similarities between the literary and filmmaking processes of Robbe-Grillet, with examples to back it up...
