Ballet mécanique

At that time, Fernand Léger produced paintings where the human figure was reduced to pure forms. The object is fragmented and becomes the subject alone. From there, these same objects are transposed to the screen, giving them a mobility and a calculated rhythm. The spirit that animates the film appears clearly through the use of mirror effects, mechanical elements, all in a constant opposition. French post-cubist Dadaist experimental film, based on the eponymous ballet by American composer George Antheil. The film, the first film without a real script, is considered one of the masterpieces of experimental cinema.
