In a house in the Yvelines, on the banks of a river, two women live. One of them does housework and gardening and attends the children's piano lessons. The other, Mrs. Granger, is worried about the future of her daughter Nathalie, "of uncommon violence", according to the teacher. Will Nathalie accept to be a boarder and to take music lessons? Only a transistor radio, recounting the misdeeds of two young killers, breaks the silence that haunts the house.
