Courbet, les origines de son monde

Gustave Courbet, a painter of reality, a colourful painter, a painter of the earth and the concrete, was at odds with those who came before him. Three voices will mingle to make us discover how this painter, apparently in the continuity of his time, was the painter of rupture. Courbet's voice guides us, composed essentially of his abundant correspondence in which he exposes his doubts and troubles. Then the voice of the narrator reveals how Courbet broke all the pictorial rules of the time. And finally a third voice to make us discover the violent and lapidary attacks to which Courbet was subjected.
