A beach in the Somme, in the North of France, under a cold and incessant rain. A man named Pierre moves into the only open hotel in the small town. The hotel's servants are, like Pierre, children of the public assistance system. He too has worked as a servant in the establishment. That was years ago. So when a stranger arrives and accuses Pierre of a horrible crime, the servants, in solidarity, will try everything to get him off the hook.
