In Le Camion, filmed in 1977 near Versailles, Marguerite Duras portrays a woman who has no other reference to a possible identity than the practice of hitchhiking. In the company of actor Gérard Depardieu, editor Dominique Auvray and director Bruno Nuytten, she tries to situate the particular place of this film in her cinematographic work. The writer-filmmaker wanted to deprive the viewer by replacing the representation with the text. Marguerite Duras and Dominique Noguez talk about the conception of the film, its genesis and its form, which questions the place of the author and the relationship between reality and fiction. They also evoke life in the suburbs and the character Duras admits: I see her as me. It's the first time it's happened to me in literature or cinema.
