The Marquis de la Chesnaye organizes a hunting party on his estate in Sologne. A host of guests arrived at the castle, including André Jurieu, a national hero since his twenty-three hour flight across the Atlantic. A feat achieved for the beautiful eyes of the marquise Christine La Chesnaye, in vain. In a society where nobles and servants are subject to the rule of conventions, Jurieu, by this love, upsets the game.
