In the year 2000 in Marseille, Michèle, Paul, Viviane, Abderamane, Claude, Gérard, Ameline, Sarkis have to face the difficulties of life. Michèle, a worker at the fish market, has set out to save her drug-addicted daughter. Paul betrays his striking dockworker friends to become a cab driver. Viviane, a musician, can no longer stand the left-wing realist that her husband represents. Abderamane, transformed by prison, seeks to help his brothers. Claude has affinities with extreme right-wing militants. Gérard has a relationship with death that lends itself to mystery. Paul's parents are retired and will never vote again. Ameline's body displays the health she would like to instill in the people by reminding them of their pre-monotheistic origins. Sarkis fights for the grand piano he dreams of. No, the city is not quiet!
