In 1958, during the Algerian War, Bruno Forestier (Michel Subor), a deserter and refugee in Switzerland, works for an extreme right-wing group. One day he meets Veronica (Anna Karina) and falls in love with her. His friends suspect him of playing a double game, and to test him, order him to assassinate a journalist. The film courageously denounces this scandal of our time that is torture and that many people, hypocritically, seem to ignore.
