Une vie
with Maria Schell, Christian Marquand, Lualdi Antonella, Olivier Perrier, Alain BeigelJeanne Dandieu is raised by her parents in a closed environment where she only knows the local peasants, in particular her maid, Rosalie. One day, she meets Julien de la Mare on the port. The assiduity of this taciturn young man leads to marriage, to the joy of all. The disillusionment will soon come, Julien not really loving Jeanne and creating more and more a life apart from hunter and landowner. They soon became separated, but one day Jeanne surprised Rosalie, who was about to give birth. She welcomes this natural child with delicacy, but her suspicions grow day by day and she ends up knowing that it is Julien who has cheated on her with his servant. However, Jeanne does everything she can to win back her husband and have a child; she succeeds. The years go by in vain. The Fourchevilles meet. The husband, very jealous, quickly suspects that Julien has made his wife Gilberte his mistress. One day the lovers lock themselves in a "shepherd's house". Fourcheville furious, despite Jeanne's efforts to prevent it, will throw the hut from the top of the rocks. Jeanne can only mourn the husband she still loves; she leaves her family home, accompanied by her son, and Rosalie with her daughter.
