Touda only dreams of one thing: being a Sheikha, a traditional Moroccan performer empowered by the lyrics of the fierce female poets who came before her – with their songs of resistance, love and emancipation. Performing every evening in provincial bars under the lustful gaze of men, Touda plans to set her sights on leaving her small town for the bright lights of Casablanca where she hopes to be recognized as a true artist and also secure a better future for her and her son

Classical symphonic music is everything for 17-year-old Zahia Ziouani and her twin sister, Fettouma. Nevertheless, living in underprivileged Parisian suburbs in 1995 with their Algerian background, they struggle arduously to approach their dreams – becoming an orchestra conductor and a cellist. Driven by determination, passion, and courage, they create their own orchestra, Divertimento. It will be a game-changer. DIVERTIMENTO is inspired by the life of Zahia Ziouani, one of the few worldwide renown female conductors.

50 years in the life of a farm… Haute Savoie (French Alps), 1972: run by three brothers, the Bertrand dairy farm and its one hundred animals is filmed for the first time. As a neighbor, director Gilles Perret dedicated his first film to them in 1997, while the three farmers are in the process of passing the farm on to their nephew Patrick and his wife Hélène.
