Three tales by Maupassant, three adaptations by the filmmaker, on the theme of pleasure. The Mask: At the Palais de la danse, a dancer collapses from exhaustion. A doctor discovers that he is an old man wearing a mask and gathers the confidences of his wife, forsaken by her husband in favor of his search for pleasure, and of his lost youth. La Maison Tellier : Madame Tellier, the owner of a brothel, goes to the communion of her niece with all her boarders. The Model : A young painter is in love with his model. Once tired of this relationship, he tries to leave her.
