To nourish their reflections on His name of Venice in Deserted Calcutta, directed one year after India Song, Marguerite Duras and Dominique Noguez return to the filming location: a dilapidated palace which is the very material of this experimental film emptied of its characters. Marguerite Duras talks about the links between these two films in which we find voices and music, and evokes the theme of memory and oblivion. Delphine Seyrig and Michael Lonsdale express their reactions to this film, which has lost its image, and director Bruno Nuytten happily recounts his work with Duras.
