Pierre Leblanc marries a small Parisian seamstress. The war breaks out and Pierre goes to the front. He learns of the birth of a little girl at the same time as the death of his wife. Overwhelmed, he refuses to see his daughter. Years passed, he feels the need to know this child and finds in Jeannette his beloved wife.
