Jacques (Denis Podalydès), 38 years old, goes on vacation to the Island of Oleron with his four children. Tired of beach games, he broke his piggy bank to buy a sailing boat, a weighted dinghy version, named Liberté-Oléron, with which he decided to sail to the island of Aix, five kilometers away. Although incompetent in sailing, Jacques declared to his family that he was the only master on board.
