During the Second World War, Lucien Lacombe, a 17 year-old boorish peasant, sought to join the Resistance. Rejected because he is considered incapable, he accepts to be a snitch for a French Gestapo branch. He lives the life of a prince until the day he hands over his fiancée's father, a Jewish tailor, to the enemies.
