Alex lives in Paris, on the Pont Neuf, with Hans, his old companion who helps him to sleep. Their 'quiet' life is disrupted by the arrival of Michèle. Michèle loses her sight, and Alex discovers love. Together they live, laugh, drink and dance to the rhythm of the Parisian orchestras and under the lights of the bicentenary celebrations of the French Revolution.
