Frédérique, a wealthy Parisian bourgeois, notices a young bohemian girl, Why, who draws deer with chalk on the Pont des Arts. She seduces her and takes her to her villa in the tropics. They spend some pleasant moments there, until the day Why falls in love with an attractive architect, Paul Thomas. Jealous, Frederique decides to seduce Paul. She has no idea that Why, neglected, will end up losing her mind...
