Jeff Costello, a professional killer, has to execute the owner of a nightclub on behalf of strangers who have offered him a contract. He creates an alibi and kills the man. Nobody saw him, except the pianist of the bar. When he comes to collect the promised two million, he is shot. Jeff is caught in a trap, hunted by both the gangsters and the police.
