After years of civil war, Liberia is a devastated country where gangs of child soldiers live unchecked. They are between 9 and 17 years old. There are boys and girls. For the first time, they are telling their stories of what they have experienced and suffered. They talk in detail about the facts of war and their stories, kidnappings, looting, murders, exactions, rapes... but also about their hopes as children: to see their parents again, to go to school. François Margolin poses direct questions to these young children, nicknamed warriors, who call themselves the barbarian rebels fighting against Taylor's government. On the contrary, in the NGO and MSF groups in Monrovia, refugee children, ex-combatants of the LURD, find the words to express the horror of the crimes and the guilt and, for all of them, the desire for a return to a normal life .
