Les Dites Cariatides
35 mmFrench2 subtitles languages
For more than a century and a half, astonishing female statues have imperturbably supported the capitals, lintels and balconies of Parisian homes. These human columns, the caryatids, were mostly born in 1861, at the time of Flaubert, Marx, Delacroix and Offenbach. Agnès Varda filmed them with singular poetry, based on a poem by Charles Baudelaire.
